Eleena Kennedy

I’ve been involved with horses my whole life, growing up my parents owned and managed a Horse Stud and Riding School.

As a child I went to Pony Club, competed in the local shows then moved up to Area Trials, represented my district at Timberlands, and went on to Horse Trials and Show Jumping.

It was in my mid teens that I realized how important dressage schooling was.

My mother Pat Kennedy has always studied the training techniques of Classical Dressage and when Nuno Olivera came to New Zealand she jumped at the chance to train with him.

Pat took every opportunity for me to train with Masters in Classical Dressage that were visiting our country.

These amazing people opened a world to me where it came to working with my horses. It's to ask questions and learn the answers.

So the journey is, the more I learn the more I want to learn.

I read books and watched videos of Masters from the European schools, performing beautiful dances with their horses and thought “I want to do that”.
